Volunteer Information and Forms

Volunteering is a great way for parents and community members to contribute to enhancing the educational, cocurricular, and extracurricular programs of our District!

A Position Volunteer is an adult applying for or holding an unpaid position with the school or a program, activity or service, as a person responsible for the child’s welfare or having direct volunteer contact with children. Examples include, but are not limited to, parent volunteers, coaching volunteers, and activity volunteers.

Volunteer positions are approved annually by the Board of Education. Complete Position Volunteer Forms received on or before the Wednesday prior to the monthly work session may be considered at that month's meeting. If forms are received after the Wednesday prior to the work session, or if they are not complete, consideration may be delayed until a future month.

Please note that the PLSD Volunteer Policy Review Training and Position Volunteer Form (available below) must be completed ANNUALLY by all new and returning volunteers for each sport/activity.
(A separate form is needed for each activity/sport because there are different supervising sponsors/coaches. Each sponsor/coach must approve the volunteer request(s) for the activity/sport that they supervise.)

In accordance with the Pennsylvania School Law to keep our students and staff safe, volunteers are required to obtain and maintain proper clearances in order to work with our students. All clearances must be renewed every 60 months. It is the responsibility of the volunteer to track when their clearances will need renewed.

A PDF titled "Clearance Information for Volunteers"  is available below. It details which clearances are required for volunteering and how to obtain them.
Please note that employment clearances, with the exception of fingerprinting, can be used for volunteer purposes; however, volunteer clearances cannot be used for employment purposes.

All clearances and TB tests should be turned in directly to the Superintendent's office. Please do not send these documents to school with your children. If you have questions on the status of the clearances that the District currently has on file for you, or if you are a new volunteer, please contact Laci Rummel at 724-254-4312 ext. 4019 or [email protected]

Please remember to make copies of your clearances for your files as they will not be returned to you.
